Would you recommend changing the mic orientation for measurements taken for speakers mounted in the ceiling? My surrounds are mounted in the ceiling, above and to the side of my seating area.
Thanks.

Some on the forums have reported better results by tilting the mic. But, I am not convinced that it will make much difference for the surround speakers. Any differences would be in the very high frequencies (above 12 kHz) and since there is so little content up there it wouldn't be something that is immediately obvious.
What if you can change the direction of the speakers? I have in ceilings surrounds that can articulate about 30-35 degrees. Should I leave them facing straight down or pointed toward the center position?
You should point the speakers to the main listening position for best results.
