I have psb speakers image 4t, what is the price range, or how good does the front and wide speakers have to match the left, center and right speakers....Would to keep the price down on extra speakers but would not like to hurt the quality of the system I have.....Thanks david

Audyssey Labs We recommend Wide and/or Height speakers that are from the same "family" as the front three so that the timbre is preserved. They don't have to be very big because bass management in the AVR will redirect the bass to the subwoofer.

Audyssey Labs Yes, that's true although subs don't really "end" that low typically. Most go higher and are low passed via the crossover filters in the AVR.

Audyssey Labs Yes, the THX recommendation is for speakers and subs designed to their specs. It does not apply to non-THX certified speakers.
The lows of the Wides and Heights are routed to the sub just like any other speaker in the system.

Roey If I'm using B&W CM series for my front 3, would I be ok adding the CM1's for height, or would I be better off with the CM5s? Not sure how much low end gets directed up there.
Also, would I be ok switching down to the 600 series (like the 685) for those 2 heights to save some $$$ (my surrounds are 600 series DS3), or would you recommed keeping ALL fronts in the same series?

Audyssey Labs Smaller speakers are fine. Just like with all speakers in your system, the bass will be redirected to the sub so there is no need for big speakers. Yes, the 600 series will be just fine.
