Love what Audyssey has done for my sound. When I set up my new stuff, I set the distances of my speakers up in my BluRay unit. Then did the Audyssey setup. At this point, should I go back to the DVD/Cd player and set the distances to what Audyssey says they are? They are slightly different.

Audyssey Labs The distance settings in the BD player only matter if you are going into your AVR via the multichannel analog inputs. If you are connected digitally (via HDMI) then there is no need to bother with distance settings in the BD player. These are best handled in the AVR. Keep in mind that Audyssey measures signal delay and not just distance. For example, in subwoofers there are built in filters that delay the signal. MultEQ sees that and compensates for it, but the result is that the subwoofer shows up as being "farther" away than you would find with a tape measure. It's important to go with the distances that Audyssey found so that all signals are arriving at the same time.

With regard to speaker distance results using Audysee in an Onkyo TX-NR906, Why, would my surround speaker distances be .5' different from each other when position one is in the exact middle of them and the other 8 measuring points were done in a symmetrical arrangement. Also while running Audysee EQ, I could notice a HUGE volume difference in the test tone from rt surround and lft surround... lft being significantly louder? All other speakers output tones including the sub were equal. Is this normal? Thns for you time... looking forward to your answer. Luv Audysee btw! Wow! My SVSound PB-13 Ultra is astoundingly breathtaking after running it.

Audyssey Labs Is one of your surrounds perhaps close to an opening to another room? That can affect distance measurements. Are they both pointing to the mic for the first measurement? That can affect level calculations.

Ed Smigo Chris,
I have noticed the same thing with my surrounds. My room is "L" shaped room with the right surround on the side that is closed off and the left surround is on the side that opens up to the back of the room. Should I manually set the left speaker so it is right, or is this done on purpose by Audyssey to make up for the open area?

Audyssey Labs Hi Ed, the level adjustments are based on the measurements in your room. The open area definitely affects the level calculation that is a combination of direct and reflected sound.

Audyssey Labs I would argue that Audyssey is the "actual" measurement and recommend that you leave it as it found it.
