Audyssey LFC

When are the first receivers using this technology going to be released? Are there any current receivers that can be upgraded to use Audyssey LFC?

    Hi Dan,

    Announcements of new AVR models have to come directly from the manufacturers.  There are no plans by AVR makers to upgrade current models with LFC.

    Hi Chris,

    I was wondering if the AVR makes just need upgrade their receivers via a software upgrade or they need a hardware upgrade to support the LFC feature?

    Technically, it's "just" a firmware upgrade that's needed.  But most manufacturers don't like to do that because it involves a lot of re-work on their part to test and certify the new firmware.

    Thank you very much for your fast reply.
    Do you think it is wise to for say buy the Marantz 1602 and then just wait.

    I'm a bit scared that they will introduce a new model which will only support this great feature..

    This for me is one of the best technologies I have seen for a long time (next to AirPlay), also I can imagine I'm not the only one who wil think so.

    Did you hear anything from any of the manufacturers who might have plans to upgrade their system?

    I don't think it's wise to buy and wait for such an upgrade.  Past history tells us that it's rare to see that happen.  We expect models to be announced at CES with LFC, but have not heard about any that plan to offer it as an upgrade.

    Will the new Marantz AV8801 have LFC? How is it designated? Is it part of XT32 or a seperate piece of software that is designated as such? What other new AVRs or preamps will have it?

    The only product with LFC today is the Denon AVR-4520
