When i enabled dynamic volume (on  light ), the movie soundtrack becomes louder ( about +3 db ). Is this normal?

It depends when you enabled it.  During soft scenes it's normal to have some boost in level.  During regular dialog Dynamic Volume does not apply any compensation because it uses that for reference.  During loud scenes it turns the volume down automatically.

I have it enabled on light all the time when watching movies. Really like the effects coming from it!

I hear forest sounds, birds, wind blowing etc much better, its very immersive!

Some movie soundtracks are at 105 db doest this cause hearing damage?

ps. thx for the VERY fast reply

No, don't worry.  Only very few short portions of the movie are that loud and this will not cause hearing damage.

    Thx Chris!

You guys at Audyssey do amazing stuff with sound. I will never buy a AVR without it! What kind of rewards did you guys receive for MultEQ, Dynamic EQ and Dynamic volume?

Thx again for the great and fast support!

ps. What kind of band equalizer is MultEQ XT32 using?

Hi, you can read reviews and awards here:

None of the MultEQ solutions use bands. We found in our research that the best way to do room correction is by measuring and filting in the time domain. So we use what are called FIR filters. XT32 uses filters with more than 10k points to shape the speaker response. More about that here:
