Measurement locations per Denon CI Training

Hi Chris,

Just attended annual Denon CI training.  Class was told that the first two measurements should be taken FROM THE SAME position (primary, i.e., money seat).  I thought the second measurement was to be taken from approx two feet to one side of the first.  Which is correct?  Thanks.

Ron

    Hi Ron,

That is incorrect.  It used to be the case in the early days, but for several years now the AVRs have more memory and can keep track of the first seat data.  In fact, the on-screen display tells you to move to position #2!  In the old days it told you to stay in position #1 twice because it was first calculating the delays and levels and then needed another measurement to start the room correction calculation.  Not needed since about 2008...

Thank you, Chris.  You may want to contact Matt Good of Denon and let him know this, as this is what he is teaching in the CI classes.
