Best settings for general movie listening

Hi, I've read that Dynamic EQ should always be on but what other settings should be on to get the best movie experience below reference level, I am using a Onkyo 818 with XT32. Could you give a brief explanation what the other settings are used for eg. Re-EQ Thanks

    Hi Mal,

XT32 is needed to correct the acoustical problems of the room.  The Audyssey Movie (or Ref) target curve has the appropriate high frequency adjustment to translate the content for home listening rooms.  Re-EQ is not needed when you use the Ref. Movie curve.

Dynamic EQ is needed to correct for the big differences in our perception of sound at lower volumes.  It's mixed at very high volumes in the studio and so the decisions about tonal balance are no longer valid when you listen at lower volumes.  Dynamic EQ fixes that.

So all I need is Audyssey Movie and Dynamic EQ selected in the sound options for the best sound experience on my Onkyo amp?

Yes, those are the basic things you need.  If you listen late at night and don't want to wake up people then you could also use Dynamic Volume to make sure nothing gets too soft or too loud.
