speaker of SR and SL not working

hi..i have new home theater 5.1, my problem is I already tried all the menus in audio setup but still only Fl and FR are working. I am sure that the speakers are working. pleas help maybe there's on setup that I didn't do right..

    Hi Joel,

    Please make sure the Surround speakers are connected to the LSurr and RSurr amplifier terminals.  If you connect them to the Back Surround terminals they will not work in a 5.1 system.  Those should only be used if you have a 7.1 system.

    thanks chris, but I am just wondering, how come there are speaker output for SR and SL and center at the back of my player if there were not meant to be working in 5.1?

    Hi Joel,

    They are meant to be used in 5.1.  5.1 has L, C, R, LSurr, RSurr in the content.  You have to connect the speakers to match this.  7.1 adds two Back Surround speakers in addition to LSurr and RSurr.  If you have a 5.1 system and connect your two surround channels to the Back Surround connectors then you will get no sound from them.
