I have an Onkyo TX-NR809 with MultiEQ XT. My issue is my room is long, narrow and tall. It is an attic space above a garage with a steeply pitched roof. Floor to ceiling is 12'+ , but width is only 10'. I'm trying to arrange 2 sofa rows, but I need to push them to the left wall in order to have a walkway, so I don't have good place to put the surrounds on the side.
The vertical wall goes to 5' high then the pitch starts, so mounting inwall speakers would have the extremely close to the listener.
My thought is to pipe mount 2 speakers from the ceiling peak facing outward right and left and using the pitch to delocalize the sound. Will this work?
The room is framed but not drywalled, otherwise I'd just try it. If I can't find a solution with a reasonable chance of success I don't plan to finish the room, so extra wire drops aren't a good answer either.
