Power specs for SOMA dock and Lower East Side Dock Air

The SOMA dock has larger woofers and so it will play deeper bass.  It has Bluetooth and is a speakerphone.  The LES dock has AirPlay.

We don't publish the amplifier watts for the following simple reason: it's meaningless in a powered speaker. They only have meaning in a stand-alone amplifier when you don't know the speaker that will be connected. The industry still incorrectly quotes Watts in powered speakers and we are determined to change this bogus spec. Watt specs only matter in an amplifier or receiver when you don't know the speaker that will be connected.

Here's why: one could have a 1000 W amplifier and the world's most inefficient speaker design or a 20 W amplifier with a very efficient driver and the resulting sound pressure level would be the same.

The LES speakers and SoMa dock are rated in sound pressure level at 1 m listening distance: 100 dB.

hello chris: my I add another question: how deep does the SoMa actually play? 40hz, 35hz or even lower with how much dB drop?

I don't own any measuring-equipment to be able to scientifically prove this by myself, but I think it has one of the deepest bass I have ever heard from such a compact speaker and interestingly it is a closed system, no bass port, neither any passive radiators.

Would be glad, if you could provide some specs regarding actual frequency response.

The SoMa will play down to 40 Hz with no problem.  This is due to our patented method of bass extension that mathematically models the speaker excursion and continuously adjusts it based on the incoming signal and the volume setting.  So, at normal listening levels it will extend to 40 Hz.  At moderate levels it will actually go even deeper.

Approximately 50 Hz.  The LES Air Dock has smaller woofers than the SoMa dock.
