Absolutely! The LES Media Speakers were designed with a digital optical cable (toslink) input to work with Apple TV.  You will need to purchase an optical cable and connect it from your Apple TV to the LES Media Speakers.  Then change a few settings on the Apple TV:

    1. Go to “audio & video” in the settings menu.
    2. Turn “dolby digital out” off.

Refer to the attached images for connectivity.

Have followed these instructions but still can't get any audio with the optical input connected between the Apple TV and the LES. I have a Samsung LED TV and if I connect the optical cable between it and the LES I get audio but not volume control via the remote control. So two sub-questions:
    1) Any idea why I can't get any sound when using optical connection between a brand new Apple TV and brand new LES?
    2) If I did get that working would the audio level be controllable via the Apple TV remote or are optical connections always at a set level to be controlled by the receiving device?

I would be interested in knowing this too as I have a similar situation.

I am surprised to see no-one responded to the above question which was made Dec 27 2011!!

By default Dolby is enabled in Apple TV since the Media Speakers do not have a Dolby decoder they will not process the sound when enbabled. You will need to make sure you have Dolby switched off when connecting our speakers to Apple TV with an opitcal cable.

When Apple TV & Media speaker are connected you will not have volume control with the Apple TV remote since there is no IR sensor built into our device.
