Is television display needed for use with Apple TV?

    If the lower east side speakers are paired with an Apple TV, does the television display need to be turned on? Or, can I simply stream to the Apple TV, and through the Lower East Side Speakers, from and iPhone or iPad without tuning on the television itself?

    The TV doesn't need to be turned on. You can stream to AppleTV via AirPlay (after you set it up) without needing the screen.
